Sheila Hudson to Enter Hall of Fame

Our very own Olympian, Dr. Sheila Hudson, will enter the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Hall of Fame on Aug. 24th at Sleep Train Arena.

Sheila is a 1985 Rio Linda High School graduate, where she won the State triple jump title as a Senior. She won six NCAA titles at the University of California, Berkeley. Hudson was the best in the United States for nearly 10 years. Her American record of 47-31/2 stood for eight years. She finished 10th in the women’s triple jump at the 1996 Olympics.

Hudson received her B.A. in architecture from UC Berkeley in 1990 and an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from CSU Los Angeles in 2009. She completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at CSU Los Angeles in 2012.

Sheila is currently the Associate Athletic Director at CSU Los Angeles and has been a member of the  Athletics Department there since 2002.

She’ll be inducted as an athlete with Scott Brooks (East Union), Doug Burke (Beyer),Eileen Claugus (Rio Americano), Adam Cuestas (Merced), Dan Cuestas (Merced), Randy Fasani (Del Oro), Bob Forsch (Johnson), Eric Mastalir (Jesuit), Mark Mastalir (Jesuit), Carl McCullough (Sacramento), David Porath (Atwater), Michael Stember (Jesuit), Wilbur Thompson (Modesto), Craig Wilson (Davis, Sr.), and Amy Windmiller (Mira Loma).
