2023 was the Summer of Music… But Are you ready for Aftershock?

2023 was the Summer of Music… But Are you ready for Aftershock?

It’s been a big year for music, no doubt about it. We crawled out of the COVID cave last year and promoters began cranking up the touring music machine for bands that have been stuck in the house and in the studio for a couple of years. Talk about your masses yearning to be free!

For myself, we’ve seen more shows this year than any other I can imagine- Starting with Tears for Fears last summer, touring on the back of their first album in over 17 years, “The Tipping Point”, at the Concord Pavilion. Before the end of 2022, we saw Strangelove at Goldfield in Roseville.

2023 opened with the surprise announcement that yes, Depeche Mode had been busy in the studio during COVID, and that they would begin their “Memento Mori” tour right here at the Golden 1 Center here in Sacramento. Follow that with a spectacular night with The Cure at the Shoreline Amphitheater, A return visit by Tears for Fears at the Toyota Amphitheater, and then back to the Golden 1 Center for Duran Duran.

What an amazing year for music lovers. Did I mention that it’s not over?

The 2023 edition of the Aftershock music festival hits the shores of Discovery Park on October 5th through the 8th showcasing a powerful and eclectic blend of heavy metal hitters from top to bottom.

Marking its prominence on the West Coast’s musical calendar, the Aftershock Music Festival has solidified its position as a haven for rock enthusiasts and one of California’s largest festivals. This year’s lineup, unveiled by Danny Wimmer Presents, is a sonic blitz across the metal landscape. Spanning four days, the festival promises to deliver a seismic experience with an impressive array of big-name artists, featuring the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Korn, Tool, Incubus, and more.

Guns and Roses – Carlos Varela

From the legendary and iconic Pantera to the theatrical concept rock of Avatar, to the contemporary Aussie metal sound of Polaris (Who I have been lobbying to see for years), the lineup captures the essence of rock’s diverse landscape. Loyal fans and newcomers alike can anticipate electrifying performances from a total of nearly 100 bands gracing multiple stages throughout the event.

Aftershock Single Day and Weekend General Admission and VIP passes are selling out quickly.

For a comprehensive breakdown of the lineup and event details, music aficionados can visit AftershockFestival.com.
