Rio Linda Library to Reopen on July 17

The Sacramento Public Library will reopen its Rio Linda branch at 902 Oak Lane, Rio Linda, on Tuesday, July 17 at 1 p.m. The 4,000-square-foot leased building has been closed since mid April due to water damage from roof leakage.

Rio Linda Library staff will host a reopening celebration at 3 p.m. on July 17, featuring a balloon artist and free refreshments (while supplies last).

“We are very thankful for the tremendous support from the Rio Linda-Elverta Recreation and Park District for providing a temporary location for our library programs and bookmobile during the three-month branch closure,” said Rivkah K. Sass, Sacramento Public Library director.

Sass stated the reopened branch will provide the same great library service and return to normal open hours – Tuesday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The branch’s Summer Reading programs will continue at The Depot, 6730 Front Street, Rio Linda through the end of July:

School-age programs:
• Thursday, July 19, 3:30 p.m.: Dream Big with Juggler Owen Baker Flynn
• Thursday, July 26, 3:30 p.m.: Dream Trees with ArtBeast

Teen program:
• Wednesday, July 25, 3:30 p.m.: Retro Crafts
