Greetings RLHS Families,
The Music Department is having their first fundraiser on August 25 from 9am to 2pm. It is an eWaste fundraiser. If it has electronics in it, and isn’t a washer- dryer-or refrigerator, bring it. Your donations will help to support the students in the music department with achieving their financial goals for the year.
There is a 10 month challenge that has been presented by one of our students Anabel Chavez and recent graduate Maria Chavez through Sac State and Loaves and Fishes. This challenge will benefit Loaves and Fishes and the Rio Linda/Elverta Food Closet. August’s challenge is to collect socks and shoes. Please bring your gently used shoes and socks to the bins located in E10, D9, S9, and H7. These items will help clothe those who really need it! There was a need for clarification on our dress code this week. No strapless tops are allowed unless shoulders are covered up with a cardigan or some other type of apparel. This week there were many students who brought a cover-up, but took it off and needed to be reminded of this code.
During our recent grade level assemblies, students were reminded that we have a NO BAKED GOODS policy. If a student wishes to bring an individual treat, it must be in their lunch container and cannot be shared. All other baked goods including store purchased treats are not allowed.
Thank you for your help in making certain that students arrive to school on time each day. If your student needs to miss school, you can clear the absence in three ways:
- Write a note and have the student bring it into our front office (there is a box on the counter for these documents).
- Call and leave a voice message. Dial 566-2725 and then press 2. You will be given some guidance on how to leave such a message.
- Call and talk with an office assistant. Dial 566-2725 and then press 0 (zero). An office assistant will pick up the line unless all office assistants are on the phone already.
Back to School Night is Tuesday, August 28. We will have a general meeting in the large gym. Plans for this event are being finalized. A start and end time and description of the activities will be announced soon. Please save the evening date for now!
