Sacramento County Voting is Underway

The November Election is upon us! Ballots are in the mail and Vote Centers will be open soon!

Sacramento County is one of five counties in California to implement the Voter’s Choice Act,expanding voting opportunities for all residents. We saw positive results in the June Primary and look forward to how these changes continue to make voting easier for residents in November.
Choose how, when and where you want to vote! Gone are traditional “polling places”. In their place are comprehensive Vote Centers and strategically placed Ballot Drop Boxes. These Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes are located in many convenient locations such as libraries, grocery stores, community centers and more!
Voting has never been easier!
  • By Mail: Place the voted ballot inside the envelope provided, sign the envelope and return with postage.
  • By Drop Box: Drop your completed ballot at any one of 53 convenient Ballot Drop Box locations up to 28 days before Election Day.
  • Vote Center: Vote Centers are open for up to 11 days, including Election Day. This means voters can choose when, where and how they want to vote – at ANY Vote Center in the County. Vote Centers are even open on weekends! At the Vote Center you can drop off your completed ballot OR vote in person. The trained election officials will print your jurisdictional ballot on the spot!
    • 18 Vote Centers open for 11 days from October 27 – November 6, 2018
    • 78 Vote Centers open for four days from November 3 – November 6, 2018
    • 53 Ballot Drop Boxes open beginning October 9 – November 6, 2018

In Rio Linda/Elverta, your ballot drop box location is at the Rio Linda Library, 6724 6th Street, Rio Linda, CA 95673

The Rio Linda/Elverta Vote Center will be open from November 3rd to the 6th, 8am to 4pm, and on Election Day 7am to 8pm at the
Depot Building, 6730 Front Street, Rio Linda, CA 95673

Hours vary by location. A complete list of locations can be found online and will be provided in the Sacramento County Voter Information Guide that will be mailed out prior to the election.
For more information, visit the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections website.
