About a month ago, it was discovered that Dollar General was planning a store at the corner of Rio Linda Boulevard and M Street. Plans and specs have shown up on the Sacramento County planning website, so now we get our first look at the site plan and appearance of the new development.
As was initially represented, the Dollar General will sit right on the corner, meaning that the classic Archway Frostie building (currently Granite’s) will be removed. This will leave plenty of room for the not-quite-dead-yet Century Palms project in the field to the west.
The site plan looks to be well planted, and the building itself will be a corner-entry style building, in typical Dollar General colors; browns and tans with some brick, and bright yellow identifying signage. The final appearance should be similar to what’s pictured below. The building itself will be 9,100 square feet, and is within the Gateway Zoning District of the Rio Linda Downtown Special Planning Area.
There will be entrances from both M Street and Rio Linda Blvd.
The developer is SimonCRE in Scottsdale, Arizona. The property owner/agent is Jared Katz in Roseville. The project status is listed as pending with Sacramento County. There is no estimated time for completion.
