All book drops will be closed and any library items that have been checked out have had their due dates extended. Please check your library account to view your new due date.

We encourage you to use our digital library resources, which will continue to be available to all library patrons. If you don’t have a card yet, simply apply and get instant access to our digital resources.

How long will the library be closed?
On March 18 the Sacramento Public Library Authority Board announced the closure of all library branches through March 31 due to health concerns. We are continuing to follow COVID-19 developments closely and will determine if additional closures are needed.

Will meal service continue?
Despite our closure, Meals at the Library will continue as a pick-up only service. All meals will be available for pick-up at participating branches from 4 – 5 p.m. Find locations and schedule here(Opens in a new window).

How do I return my library materials?
During the closure all book drops will be closed. Any library items that have been checked out have had their due dates extended. Additionally, no fines will accrue during the closure. Please check your library account to obtain your new due date.

What services will be effected by the closures?
All library services and in-person programs have been suspended. This includes but is not limited to Zip Books, Link+, Recommend a Book, Makerspaces, passports, Mobile Library, Prom Drive, meeting room reservations, and events.

Are there any services available for me to use?
Yes. You can continue to enjoy the library’s digital services(Opens in a new window) at any time including free access to ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, classes and more.
