Twin Rivers adds Ten New Electric School Busses

Twin Rivers is proud to announce the arrival of 10 new electric school buses. With this delivery, TR has a total of 40 all-electric buses, making the TRUSD fleet the largest zero-emission school bus fleet in the country.

Delivery of the busses will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16. at the Twin Rivers Unified Transportation Yard, 1400 B Grand Avenue in Sacramento.

The delivery will be completed by Lion Electric, the bus manufacturer. Lion Electric is a dedicated electric vehicle manufacturer with a local Experience Center in Sacramento. Its vehicles are manufactured in North America.

To aid in distance learning, Lion supplied each of the 10 buses with hardware for Wi-Fi internet along with a year of service so that the buses can be used as Wi-Fi hubs for students who may lack access to internet at home.

Lion is celebrating the delivery of the 10 electric buses with a food donation, in partnership with Raley’s, that will feed 450 Twin Rivers families. The groceries will be distributed today (Dec. 16) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Village Elementary, 6845 Larchmont Drive, North Highlands; Regency Park Elementary, 5901 Bridgecross Drive, Sacramento; and Grant Union High School, 1400 Grand Avenue, Sacramento.
