On March 3, 2021, at approximately 6:55 PM, North Sacramento CHP Area units were dispatched to a call of a collision that occurred on Elverta Road east of 16th Street.
Upon arrival on scene, units discovered that a white Ford F-150 (driven by a 27-year-old male from Citrus Heights) had collided head-on with a Harley-Davidson style motorcycle (ridden by a 61-year-old male from Elverta).
For reasons still under investigation, the F-150 collided head-on with the motorcyclist, causing the rider of the motorcycle to be ejected from the vehicle.
The 61-year-old rider was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
The 27-year-old driver of the F-150 remained at the scene of the collision and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs.
