Sacramento Republic visit Robla Elementary

Yesterday, Republic FC midfielder Nick Ross, accompanied by the club’s Camps and Clinics coaches, made a very special visit to students at Robla Elementary School. Ross and Republic FC staff led a group of 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students, teaching them some soccer skills during their afternoon physical education class.

In addition to getting the opportunity to work out with a professional soccer player, those who participated were also gifted soccer balls and a ticket to an upcoming Republic FC match. The visit is a part of the club’s Week of Community Investment ahead of the 2022 season opener.

“There are a lot of soccer players here at this school and they love it. Now we have an outdoor team who had their first game last Friday and they tied 3 to 3. …Health and fitness are huge. They are so important and the pandemic shone the spotlight on how important it is to get outside moving and how it connects to your mental health as well.”

Republic FC will continue its week of community investment project each day this week leading up to the club’s home opener on Saturday. Today, Republic FC players, coaches, and staff will take part in a CPR class provided by Medic Ambulance at 1:00 p.m. at the club’s training facility located at Cosumnes River College.

On Thursday, a group of volunteers will travel to American Legion Post 178 in Rio Vista to help the organization recondition its facility. On Friday, Republic FC will host an All-Girls Soccer Clinic in partnership with Land Park Soccer Club, extending the celebration of International Women’s Day. The clinic is free to all participants ages 6-16 and interested players can register now at http://www.sacrepublicfc.com/camps-clinics/.

The Sacramento Republic FC have their home opening this Saturday at Heart Health Park (Formerly Bonney Field) at 7pm. They will host the El Paso Locomotive. Tickets are available here.
