Rio Linda Teen Found Dead on 22nd Street

Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic homicide that unfolded in the Rio Linda community.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, on the 6900 block of 22nd Street at Elkhorn Boulevard. At approximately 2:15 a.m., the 911 communications center received a call reporting a shooting incident within the neighborhood. Law enforcement authorities have disclosed that the victim of this incident is a 17-year-old male, who sustained at least one gunshot wound, although more shots were fired according to witnesses.

It is believed that deputies discovered the young victim outside of his residence. Presently, no details regarding potential suspects or motives have been unveiled by the authorities, who have refrained from releasing any supplementary information.

Notably, this marks the third homicide to have occurred in the Rio Linda area over the past four weeks.
