Jackie Lee “Jack” Brown (April 6,1938 -January 2nd, 2025)
Jack with son Daniel.

Jackie (Jack) Lee Brown, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Danelle Brown (Asnicar). Jack was a man of quiet strength, boundless love for his family, and an unwavering commitment to the simple joys of life. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion will be carried on by all who knew him.

Born on April 6, 1938, in Sacramento, CA, Jack was the son of John Roy Brown and Francis Eula Edward. He had one sister, Barbara Myers (Bog Myers). Jack graduated from Grant High School in Sacramento, CA, in 1956, and went on to build a life full of love and dedication to his family.

Jack married his beloved wife, Danelle Julia Brown (Asnicar), and together they raised three children. The family spent many happy years living on their small farm in Rio Linda, CA, where Jack instilled in his children the values of hard work, responsibility, and love for animals. The farm, complete with pigs, ponies, sheep and open spaces, was the heart of their home.

Jack worked for many years at Servomation, a vending machine company. Outside of work, Jack was an active member of his community. He was a proud 50-year member of the Rifle, Rod & Gun Club, Grass Valley, a supporter of the Booster Club, a dedicated member of the Moose Lodge in Grass Valley, and a beloved member of the Skipjacks where he formed lasting friendships.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Jack enjoyed golfing, traveling, and playing softball. He also had a competitive spirit and was known for his love of card games and board games, which he played with family and friends. Jack loved to dine out, particularly enjoying meals at Willow and Paulette’s in Grass Valley, CA, where he and his family created many cherished memories.

In 2010, Jack and Danelle moved to Grass Valley, CA, where they embraced the slower pace of life in the foothills, surrounded by nature.
Jack’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children, Kathryn Culp (Robert Culp), Jennifer Mehaffey (Scott Mehaffey), and Daniel Brown (Leslie Brown), along with his beloved grandchildren: Jaclyn Culp (Waylon Lockling), Jillian Goyet (Patrick Goyet), Shelby Caldwell (Justin Caldwell), Mekayla Mehaffey, Jordan Brown, and Gracie Brown. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Hank Goyet, Callen Goyet, Sutton Lockling, Quincy Lockling, Wade Lockling, Eliza Caldwell, and Maizy Caldwell. Jack’s favorite pup Scamp was another cherished addition to the family.

A celebration of Jack’s life was held at Terraces of Roseville on January 7, 2025.

Jack’s legacy of love, laughter, and commitment to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of calling him a friend.

We Love you Dad…
