Arrest Made in Jubilee Way Shooting; Victim Remains Critical, Suspect Identified
via Sacramento County Sheriff

RIO LINDA, CA – The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in Rio Linda, leaving one man in critical condition. Michael Carradine, 58, was arrested late Saturday night following the incident.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the shooting was reported around 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Jubilee Way. Officials stated that a physical fight escalated, resulting in the shooting. The suspect, believed to be Carradine, initially fled the scene on foot. The male victim was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

Carradine was formally arrested Saturday night after speaking with deputies. He has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on April 8, 2025.

Community members shared observations and concerns for hours following the shooting on the Rio Linda Online Facebook page. Residents reported a heavy police presence around Jubilee Way and Camelot Way starting Saturday afternoon, with streets blocked off and caution tape erected. “Lots and lots of law enforcement presence. Roads blocked/taped off,” users posted early on. Information gleaned from scanner apps and other sources circulated among residents, painting a picture of the unfolding situation.

While the Sheriff’s Office cited an escalated physical fight, commenters on the Rio Linda Online page suggested the dispute originated over a parking spot in front of a residence.

Community members expressed significant concern for the victim throughout Saturday afternoon and evening. Initial reports shared among residents indicated the victim was undergoing surgery. An update around 12 hours prior to the latest official release suggested the victim was “out of surgery and stable for now,” though the Sheriff’s Office’s latest report confirms his condition remains critical. Prayers and well wishes for the victim were numerous in the online discussion.

The incident also prompted discussions among residents regarding community safety and the nature of Rio Linda, with Rio Linda Online and others affirming it remains an “awesome town” despite such events.

Rio Linda Online is awaiting further details and will provide updates as they become available from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office or court proceedings.
