Rio Linda’s own Cam Skattebo wasted no time making his mark in the NFL. Despite playing just eight snaps in Week 1, the rookie running back dominated his limited time, earning the coveted “Angry Runs” scepter on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football.
Skattebo’s debut performance was a highlight reel of pure determination. On his very first snap, he delivered a crushing block in pass protection, giving Russell Wilson the time he needed to connect with Malik Nabers for a 25-yard gain. Then, just one play later, he took a short pass, lowered his shoulder, and bowled over both a cornerback and an All-Pro linebacker for a gritty six-yard gain.

“Cam Skattebo, the rookie running back… has shown up not in his first game. Nay, in his very first touch and won his very first scepter,” proclaimed Good Morning Football host Kyle Brandt. “The scepter is going to Skattebo. My only question is, is he going to win 17 of these things?”

It’s a question that many in Rio Linda are likely asking as well. Skattebo was a force in college, finishing his last season second in the nation in both total yards from scrimmage and missed tackles forced. Now, he’s bringing that same electrifying, relentless style to the pros.
It’s clear that the NFL is about to learn what Rio Linda (and Pacheco… and Oakdale… and Casa Roble… and Oakdale… and San Gorgonio) have known for years: you can’t stop Cam Skattebo, you can only hope to contain him.
