RIO LINDA, CA – The election season is officially underway! The Voter Registration and Elections (VRE) office has started sending out Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots for the Statewide Special Election on November 4, 2025. All registered voters in the county should be receiving their ballots soon.
For those who want to get a head start, secure early ballot retrieval is now an option. You can return your completed ballot at any of the designated Ballot Drop Boxes located throughout the county. If you’re near Sacramento, a convenient 24/7 drive-through drop box is available at the Elections Office parking lot at 7000 65th Street. Just remember, it closes at 8:00 p.m. on Election Night.
VRE urges voters to return their ballots as early as possible and, most importantly, to sign the pink VBM envelope to ensure their vote is counted.
Returning your ballot by U.S. Mail is also an option, and no postage is necessary if you use the provided pink envelope.
For more information on drop box locations, Vote Centers, or other election-related questions, you can visit the VRE website at http://www.elections.saccounty.gov.
