This year is particularly special as the community celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade!
Breakfast, Bazaar, and Brighter Lights
The holiday cheer begins bright and early with two great events to kick off your day:
Breakfast with Santa!
- Time: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Location: RLE Community Center (810 Oak Lane, Rio Linda)
- Bring the whole family for a festive morning! Enjoy a free breakfast featuring Pancakes, Ham & Eggs, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate. You can also take a free picture with Santa to capture a magical holiday memory. Thanks to the support of sponsors like the Rio Linda FFA, Rio Linda Elverta Country Lions, and Gregory Realty Group, this community favorite continues to be a wonderful start to the season.
5th Annual Christmas Bazaar / Christmas Market
- Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Location: Rio Linda High School Gym & Cafeteria
- Looking for the perfect gift? The annual holiday market will feature over 80+ local vendors (the additional information mentions 100+ local vendors) offering unique gifts, handmade crafts, and holiday favorites. Admission is free, and the event includes free kids’ crafts, raffles all day, and plenty of food, coffee, and treats to enjoy while you shop.
The 10th Anniversary RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade
The main event—and the crown jewel of the day—is the RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade, celebrating its momentous 10th anniversary.
The holiday season just wouldn’t be the same without the Annual RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade—a tradition that brings our whole community together!
- RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade
- Time: 6:00 PM
- Location: Downtown Rio Linda
- Route: The parade will travel down M Street, beginning at W. 2nd Street and ending at Curved Bridge Rd.
- Rain or Shine: The parade is on, rain or shine! (Cancellations may occur only if severe weather poses a safety risk.)
Whether you’re bundled up along the sidewalks taking in the twinkling lights, or you’re part of the fun riding on a glowing float, the parade is sure to fill your heart with holiday cheer.

Before the parade begins, there is still time for residents to enter The Rio Linda-Elverta Chamber of Commerce Christmas Light Contest! Show off your holiday spirit by lighting up Rio Linda and Elverta.
- Entry Period: November 1st – December 1st
- Prizes: $200 for 1st Place plus cash awards for 2nd and 3rd Place.
- Winners Announced: Winners will be announced during the RLE Christmas Light Parade on December 13th.
