Mandatory Meeting Tonight for Parade Entrants; Road Closures Announced for Saturday’s 10th Annual Event

The 10th Annual RLE Hometown Christmas Light Parade is almost here!

It is time to bring that Christmas spirit and show the county how Rio Linda shines. As we prepare for this milestone anniversary event this Saturday, there are critical details that both parade participants and local residents need to know—starting with a mandatory meeting tonight.

FOR PARADE PARTICIPANTS: Mandatory Meeting Tonight

If you have entered a float, vehicle, or walking group in the parade, it is mandatory that you attend the entry meeting this evening. We will be covering everything you need to know for parade day, including check-in procedures, the specific parade route, safety expectations, and all the “do’s and don’ts” to ensure a smooth and magical night for our community.

Please ensure at least one representative from your group attends.

  • When: Tonight – Monday, December 8th, 2025
  • Time: 6:00 PM
  • Where: Rio Linda Community Center (810 Oak Ln, Rio Linda, CA 95673)

FOR RESIDENTS & COMMUTERS: Road Closures This Saturday

The main event takes place this Saturday, December 13th, 2025. To accommodate the parade route and ensure the safety of spectators and participants, significant road closures will be in effect in downtown Rio Linda.

Road Closure Schedule:

  • Date: Saturday, Dec. 13th, 2025
  • Time: Roads will be CLOSED from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Affected Areas: The closures will primarily impact M Street and the surrounding staging areas.

  • Staging Area: West 2nd Street (North of M Street) will be utilized for the parade lineup.
  • Parade Route: The parade will travel East along M Street, beginning at West 2nd Street, crossing over Rio Linda Blvd, and continuing East past Front Street, curving along the main M Street corridor past 6th Avenue, and concluding near the 10th Avenue/Curved Bridge/MarVal Plaza area.

Traffic Advisory: Please use alternative routes during these hours. If you are not attending the parade, it is highly recommended to avoid the center of town between 4:30 PM and 9:30 PM to avoid delays.
