PULASKI COUNTY, MO – A 59-year-old man from Elverta, California, has been hospitalized with serious injuries following a major two-vehicle collision on Sunday morning in central Missouri.
The crash occurred on Interstate 44, a major shipping corridor, roughly 140 miles southwest of St. Louis.
Incident Details
According to a crash report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident took place at approximately 8:24 a.m. on Sunday January 18th.
Investigators state that the Elverta man was operating a 1998 Kenworth semi-truck traveling eastbound near the 150-mile marker in Pulaski County. The collision occurred when the Kenworth struck the rear of a 2021 Volvo, which was being driven by a 25-year-old man from Brampton, Ontario.
Injuries and Transport
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the Elverta resident by ambulance to Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri. The MSHP report lists his injuries as serious.
The driver of the Volvo was reportedly uninjured in the crash.
