Paula Snow, a beloved mother, “Yaya,” sister, and lifelong friend, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 63. After a courageous battle with breast cancer, she spent her final days at St. Raphael Nursing Home in Valley City, ND, surrounded by the laughter and friendship she cultivated throughout her life.

A Life Rooted in Rio Linda
Born in Sacramento on March 5, 1963, to Paul Eugene and Beulah Ann Williams, Paula was a true local. She grew up walking the streets of Rio Linda and was a proud graduate of Rio Linda High School, Class of 1981.
Paula dedicated 27 years of service to the State of California, retiring in 2021 as a Legal Analyst. While she was deeply proud of her professional contributions, it was the lifelong friendships she forged in those halls that she cherished most.
“Sweet Nectar” and Family Ties
To know Paula was to know two things: her family was her world, and coffee—her “sweet nectar”—was a non-negotiable part of her day. Whether she was spending a day at the beach, hunting for deals on a shopping trip with “her girls,” or trying out a new restaurant, Paula found joy in the simple things. She was a master of Nickels and Farkle, always ready for a bit of friendly competition.
Family and Legacy
Paula was preceded in death by her parents. Her legacy lives on through her devoted family:
- Daughters: Emily (Andrew) Thompson, Jessica (Katarina) Snow, and Michele Snow.
- Grandchildren: Carson Thao, Benjamin Thompson, Carter Thompson, and Parker Thompson.
- Siblings: Samuel (Brenda) Williams, Mark Williams, Larry (Laurie) Williams, Jack (Kim) Williams, Patty Westerinen, Steven (Sue) Williams, and Thomas Williams.
Services
The family wishes to thank CHI Home Health & Hospice and the staff at St. Raphael for their exceptional care and love during Paula’s final journey.
A Celebration of Life will be held in California at a later date. Her daughters will provide further details as they become available. Local arrangements are being handled by Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel.
Paula will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. While her absence leaves a void, there is comfort in knowing she is finally at rest.
