Dwarf Planets and the New Frontiers Mission (Family/All Ages)

Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Jayce Pearson as he presents an exciting program on the current NASA missions exploring dwarf planets in our solar system. Learn what NASA has learned from the Dawn mission in the asteroid belt. Jayce will share recent news and science from the New Horizons spacecraft after its fly-by of Pluto and its moons after almost a decade flying through our solar system. This program is sponsored by the Friends of Rio Linda Library.

Introduction to the Internet

Learn how to surf and explore the internet. In this two session class we will learn what an Internet Browser is and how to use it get the most of your online experience. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are required for this class. Registration is required.

We have a trained volunteer ready to help individuals one-on-one with job searching and using our databases including Job & Career Accelerator. Sessions last for approximately 30 minutes. Appointments may be made in advance. If you have a current resume or a laptop bring them along. If not we will get you started on one of our computers.

Do you have questions about your Social Security, retirement, disability benefits or Medicare? Friendly Social Security Administration staff will be in the library to help you find answers. They can help you establish an account file applications at one of the library’s internet computers and more. This is a drop-in session any you will be helped on a first come first served basis. The workshop will be repeated on the 4th Wednesday of October.
