Murder trial set to begin July 6 for Jonnyrae Witt

The trial for a Rio Linda man accused of shooting his girlfriend in the head with a rifle during an argument will start early next month.

The case against murder suspect Jonnyrae Witt will start at 9 a.m. July 6 in Yuba County Superior Court.

Witt, 25, faces 50 years to life if convicted of the murder of Leslie Cramblit.

Yuba County sheriff’s deputies found Cramblit dead on a couch in a converted garage in the early morning hours of Nov. 22, court documents say. Witt had fled the scene.

After days of searching, Witt was taken into custody on Friday when Sacramento sheriff’s authorities aided Yuba County detectives in serving a search warrant at a home in Carmichael.
