The Sacramento County Sheriffs Department is investigating a homicide which occurred at West 2nd and Angel Street, just south of M Street in Rio Linda.

The stabbing occurred around 7pm on Monday night, May 1st.

Upon arrival SSD discovered an 18-year-old male who had been stabbed in the upper body. After a setting up a perimeter and deploying K9 units and STAR (the Sheriff Air Unit) Deputies also located another 18-year-old male inside the residence, who had a severe laceration to one of his hands. Witnesses report seeing the suspect handcuffed to the gurney as he was loaded into an ambulance.

The male who was stabbed later died at Mercy San Juan hospital.
