Last night, around 8:30pm, a neighbor heard shots fired on the 5800 block of West Second Street in Rio Linda.
The neighbor came out of her house, and saw a grey Mini Cooper with a black top and heavily tinted rear windows, and California plates speeding away.
Upon investigation, the neighbor discovered a man laying in his driveway with four gunshot wounds to his upper torso (per KCRA) and one to the head (per witness).
The neighbor called 911. Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS responded, and the victim was taken to Mercy San Juan hospital where he remains this morning.
As of this morning, SSD has a suspect in custody.
Neither the suspect nor the victim’s names have been released.
