Rio Linda, CA – Due to the presence of West Nile virus-positive mosquitoes and high adult mosquito counts, parts of West Placer County will undergo an aerial adulticide treatment tonight, Wednesday, September 4th, between 7:30 PM and 12 AM.

An EPA-registered mosquito adulticide will be applied in an ultra-low volume fog by aircraft to target adult mosquitoes and reduce the risk of West Nile virus transmission to people.

Important Considerations:

  • Weather Conditions: Wind speed and direction are crucial factors for effective and safe application. The contractor will adjust the flight path accordingly.
  • Aircraft and Technology: Specialized systems are used to measure wind conditions and ensure accurate delivery of the adulticide.

Affected Areas:

  • West Placer
  • Westpark
  • Westbrook
  • Fiddyment
  • Amoruso
