All American Speedway in Roseville hosts Sonoma Raceway Night May 20th

The “Sonoma Raceway Night at the Races” will take place on Saturday, May 20, at All American Speedway in Roseville.

It promises to be an exhilarating event as the two NASCAR racing venues join forces. The night will feature a variety of motorsports competition, including the long-awaited return of the NCMA Sprint Cars to Roseville after a six-year absence. Spectators can expect thrilling open-wheel action on the one-third-mile track. In addition, there will be races featuring the NASCAR Velocity Solar Modifieds, the NAPA Riebes Super Stocks, and F4s. The event will culminate with the “Spring Smash” for the NAPA Riebes Trailer Bash.

The grandstands will open at 4 PM, followed by NCMA Sprint Car qualifying. Heat races will begin at 5:15 PM, and the opening ceremonies are scheduled for 6 PM. Tickets can be purchased online at www.AllAmericanSpeedway.com. General admission seats are available at $20 for adults, $15 for juniors aged 6-12, and free for kids aged 5 and under.

The NCMA Sprint Car Series will bring its high horsepower and energy to Roseville for the third round of the 2023 touring season. Dr. David Goodwill, who recently shattered the track record at Madera Speedway, will attempt to achieve similar feats at All American Speedway. Local favorite Shauna Hogg will make her return to racing in Roseville after several seasons, joining drivers from Northern Nevada, Northern California, and Central California. The evening will feature heat races and a 30-lap feature race.

The NASCAR Velocity Solar Modifieds will compete in twin features as part of their ongoing quest for national, regional, state, and local NASCAR championships. Former champion Nick Lyons of Loomis has had a strong start to the season, winning two out of the first three features. Other drivers, including Lincoln’s Luke Kaper, 2022 Rookie of the Year Cody Rickard, and 2022 season runner-up Tyler Wentworth of Roseville, will be aiming to challenge Lyons.

Josh Whitfield, the 2022 NAPA Riebes Super Stocks champion from Roseville, has continued his winning streak by triumphing in the first two rounds of the 2023 campaign. Competitors such as Roy Smith of Roseville, Terry Thomas of Antelope, and Tim Walters of Dixon have been strong contenders, consistently finishing within the top five in both races. A 30-lap feature race is scheduled for this Saturday night.

The F4s division will be showcased in a 40-lap “F4 Shootout,” highlighting their popular grassroots style of racing with four-cylinder engines. In a previous race, Roseville’s Nathan Cleaver emerged as the victor among a field of 15 cars. Rocklin’s John Sproule claimed the first-round victory. The father and son duo of Ray Molina and Matthew Fuhs, both former champions, have yet to secure a victory in the 2023 season but will be eager to change their fortunes this weekend.

Adding to the excitement, the NAPA Riebes Auto Parts Trailer Bash will feature a hard-hitting spectacle where drivers aim for each other’s trailers during a 15-lap race. The first driver to cross the finish line with the trailer still attached will earn a $1,000 prize. Additionally, there will be $250 prizes for the best-decorated trailer and the Master of Disaster, both determined by fan votes. Brent “Muddy” Waters emerged victorious in the season opener by executing a last-lap pass on “Jelly Donut” Richard Lavellee.
