American Pickers to film in NorCal

The “American Pickers” will be headed to northern California in March. And they are hoping for an opportunity to “pick” the private collections of select residents in the area.

American Pickers is a popular reality television series on the History channel featuring Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz.

The series, which began in 2010, follows Mike and Frank as they travel the back roads of America in search of various items to buy for resale.

“We’re looking for amazing things buried in people’s garages and barns,” they say on their show. “What most people see as junk, we see as dollar signs. We’ll buy ‘anything’ we think we can make a buck on. Each item we pick has a history all its own. And the people we meet? Well, they’re a breed all their own.”

People who are interested in having Mike and Frank pick through their private collections are encouraged to contact the show at 855-OLD-RUST (653-7878). American Pickers can also be reached by email at AmericanPickers@cineflix.com.

Mike and Frank will only pick private collections. No stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public… the show is looking for collections that are large and unique.

Some of the things that make American Pickers so popular with viewers are the people Mike and Frank meet while they are picking.

“We’re looking for leads, specifically interesting characters with interesting items, and lots of them,” They said.

People who call the American Pickers’ number would likely get a recorded message. Callers should be prepared to leave their name, town, state and phone number.

It is also helpful if people leave a brief description of their items.
