Arson Suspect Arrested by Metro Fire in North Highlands

North Highlands, CA. – A suspect was arrested on charges of arson in North Highlands this morning after Metro Fire personnel responded to a reported fire in an apartment building at 5 am on Monday morning in the 5600 block of Hillsdale Boulevard.  After the fire was confined to a bedroom closet, Sacramento County Sheriff’s (SSD) Deputies located a male subject near the scene who was identified by witnesses as the person who started the fire. Upon arrival on scene of a Metro Fire Arson Investigator, the fire was determined to be incendiary in nature.  

The suspect located by SSD Deputies, Victor Jerome Lee of Sacramento County (booking photo below) was then taken into custody by the Metro Fire Arson Investigator and charged with suspicion of arson to a structure and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.  Charges are pending review by the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office.
