Placer County, CA – A 51-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting in the Pleasant Grove area was arrested in Elverta on Wednesday evening.

The suspect, Jimmy Buckley, was apprehended after a brief pursuit by Placer County Sheriff’s deputies. The incident occurred when deputies spotted a vehicle linked to Buckley and attempted to make a traffic stop. He got out of the vehicle with his hands up, but as deputies approached and warned him he was under arrest, he attempted to run. He didn’t get far. Within a few feet, he ran into a large propane tank, which knocked him to the ground, and he was arrested.

The October 16th shooting incident left the victim with injuries, but they are expected to recover.

Buckley is currently in custody and faces charges of attempted murder.
