Civil War Experience at Gibson Ranch

President LincolnAbe Lincoln and friends happily invite you to the annual GIBSON RANCH CIVIL WAR RE-ENACTMENT May 21st and 22nd, 2011!

Come participate in the 1860’s: tour Civilian, Yankee and Confederate Camps, enjoy music, food, battle re-enactments (complete with cannon fire), interact with living history
representatives.

General Admission: $6/each
Kids (9 and under): FREE
PARKING: $5/car

Living History Camps Open:

  • 10:00am – 6:30pm Sat
  • 9:00am – 3:00pm Sun

Battle Re-Enactments:

  • 1:00pm and 5:30pm Sat
  • 11:00am and 2:00pm Sun

This year’s events include:

  • A Civil War Clothing Demonstration
  • A Horsemanship Demonstration
  • FREE Guided Camp Tours
  • A May Day Celebration
  • A “Searching for the Dead” Scenario

Walk through living history camps and talk to re-enactors true to the period of the 1860’s.

Buy a hoop skirt and some lemonade and sit back and watch the canons fire back and forth. Fun and learning for the whole family!

Born and raised in Rio Linda, a graduate of Rio Linda High School, and a resident for most of the last 50 years. Co-Chair for the Rio Linda Elverta Neighborhood Association, announcer for Rio Linda Knights Football, Rio Linda Christmas Light Parade, and Rio Linda Little League Parade, Original keeper of the Archway Lights, and outspoken advocate for the Rio Linda Elverta community.
