Rio Linda Online, our very own community news hub, has been featured in a recent Comstock’s Magazine article that highlights the rise of digital hyperlocal news outlets. The piece not only shines a light on how local news is changing, but also features founder John Todd, and his deep commitment to the Rio Linda/Elverta community.

The piece talks about how old-school newspapers are struggling and how digital sites like RLO are stepping up to fill the gap. It’s something the Rio Linda Elverta community has known for a long time—if you want to know what’s happening around town, you head to RioLindaOnline.com. The magazine explains that John, with his IT background, started the site way back in 2005 as a true passion project, not to get rich, but just because our community needed it.

The article also dives into why John is so much more than just the publisher. If you’ve lived here for any amount of time, you already know John is everywhere! He’s even been called “Mr. Rio Linda.” If you go to local events it’s hard to miss him.
