As the chilly overnight lows and persistent, damp valley fog continue to grip the region, Sacramento County, in partnership with First Step Communities, is activating a weather respite center beginning tomorrow.
Starting Thursday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., the Warren E. Thornton Youth Center (WETYC) will open its doors to provide a warm, safe place for those needing relief from the elements.
For those in the Rio Linda and Elverta area seeking shelter, please note that capacity is limited. Officials urge anyone interested to call 2-1-1 to check availability before traveling to the site.
