Demolition Derby Saturday, September 11th

Rio Linda Lions Demolition DerbyFrom Shelli Bolsover:

Dear Community Members;

Please join me at the annual Demolition Derby. This is the Rio Linda Lions Club #1 money maker and ALL of the proceeds go right back into the community in the form of scholarships, sports sponsorships, help for teachers that want to promote programs for special needs, the visually impaired, you name it, if it is good and promotes a better community we do it. I as the secretary can’t even spend any of the money we make at the demo derby for stamps or ink. No biggy, I can raise that somewhere else. The money we raise here is for us – me, you, and our fellow Rio Linda community members!!! We are even trying to raise the money for a police dog but that event is in 2-weeks so I will tell you about it later.

You can buy cheaper pre-sale tickets at Rio Linda Hardware, Tummy’s, Rio Java, or Archway Market. The pre-sale tickets are $12 for 12 and above and $5 for 6-12. Otherwise it is $15 for 12 and up and 5 for 6-12. Younger than 6 get in free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

There will be games and fun for the whole family. Come say hi to Cecil on the pit side or Carol and I on the spectator side. Corey will be at the beer garden and Samantha and Annissa will be serving up ice-cream and snow cones.  The Girls Softball Team and Girls Golf team will be hosing the food booths and the RLHS Peers Support team will be hosting the merchandise booth and the Smash Em’ Up car. The Venture scouts will be helping you park and the Boy Scouts will be cleaning up the mess on Sunday (do be kind).

I can’t wait to see you. It will be a lot of fun.

Shelli, Dedicated Community Member

PS. Go to our website for all (ok, most, all it too much) the fun things the Lions Club likes to do.You are welcome to join us as well.
