Free Bus Rides in Rio Linda for Transit Equity Day

Honoring Rosa Parks

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the Rio Linda and Elverta communities can join Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) in celebrating Transit Equity Day. This annual event honors the legacy of civil rights icon Rosa Parks on her birthday, commemorating her 1955 act of courage that forever changed the landscape of public transportation and social justice in America.

To mark the occasion, SacRT is making it easier for local residents to get around by offering fare-free rides on all fixed-route buses.
