Sacramento-area high school girls can get a fresh start to the school year with free, gently used clothes and essentials thanks to Sac Girls Closet. The organization is hosting its annual back-to-school pop-up shop on Monday, September 1, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Swanston Community Center in Sacramento.
This special event lets high schoolers browse a wide selection of school-appropriate clothing, accessories, and hygiene products, all at no cost. Volunteer stylists will be on hand to help students find the perfect outfits, making it a fun and stress-free shopping experience.
How You Can Help
Sac Girls Closet relies on the generosity of the community to make this event a success. Here’s how you can get involved:
- Donate Clothes: Do you have gently used, school-appropriate clothes or accessories that are clean and free of stains or holes? You can drop them off at the Civitas Office (Room A6) at Rio Americano High School.
- Volunteer Your Time: Lend a hand with sorting donations, setting up the event, styling students, or helping with registration and cleanup.
- Lend Supplies: The event needs clothing racks, hangers, and standing mirrors. Donations of snacks and drinks for attendees and volunteers are also appreciated.
- Become a Sponsor: Financial support helps cover event costs and essential supplies. Sponsors will be recognized on the Sac Girls Closet website, at the event, and in all promotional materials.
