At around 6:30pm yesterday evening, Metro Fire was alerted to a fire taking place on 34th street in North Highlands.

Bao and Tony Xiong arrived home to discover their home on fire. Now they and their four children have been displaced due to the damage.

Metro Fire says the fire began on a patio and spread into the house, although no cause has yet been identified.

The family dog did not survive the blaze.

A GoFundMe has been established to help the family through this difficult time.
