The Tri-Communities Lunch Bunch is meeting this Thursday, August 7th, and you’re invited! This month’s special guest speaker will be Congressman Ami Bera from District 6.
Congressman Ami Bera, M.D., has been representing Sacramento County in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013. His district, the 6th Congressional District, is located just east and north of Sacramento and is entirely within Sacramento County.
On Capitol Hill, Congressman Bera holds key positions. He serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee as the Ranking Member for the Subcommittee on East Asia and the Pacific. He is also a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Additionally, he is part of the New Democrat Coalition, a group of over 110 Democrats who advocate for pro-economic growth, innovation, and fiscally responsible policies.
Closer to home, Congressman Bera’s office has been focused on making government work for the residents of Sacramento County. Since 2013, his office has helped more than 33,000 residents and has returned over $21 million to local taxpayers by assisting with everything from backlogged veterans’ benefits to Social Security savings.
Come to Brookfields Restaurant, located at 4343 Madison Ave. in Sacramento, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Congressman Bera is scheduled to speak at 12 noon sharp, so be sure to arrive a little early to grab your lunch and get settled in.
After the Congressman’s talk, there will be time for introductions and community announcements. This is the perfect opportunity to connect with your neighbors. Feel free to bring fliers, business cards, and other information to share. The Lunch Bunch is a casual, drop-in networking group with no dues or obligations—just a shared interest in our community.
