RIO LINDA, CA — As the labor dispute between local school districts and educator associations continues, members of the Twin Rivers United Educators (TRUE) and the Natomas Teachers Association (NTA) have announced plans for a joint show of solidarity today, Thursday, March 12.

The scheduled events come as both districts face ongoing strikes centered on school funding, staffing levels, and safety concerns.

Planned Schedule of Events

  • Morning Picket Lines: Picket lines are expected at all school sites in the Twin Rivers and Natomas districts, beginning 30 minutes before the first bell.
  • Joint Rally & March: At 11:00 AM, educators and supporters from both districts will meet at the Ziggurat building (707 3rd Street, West Sacramento).
  • Route: The group plans to march across the Tower Bridge, culminating in a rally at Crocker Park.

Status of Negotiations

Both TRUE and NTA leadership have expressed their readiness to continue the bargaining process until agreements are reached regarding student resources and staffing stability. District officials continue to monitor the situation to ensure student safety and provide updates on school operations.

Rio Linda Online will continue to provide updates on the impact of the strike on local schools as more information becomes available.
