Jonnyrae Witt, who forced the lockdown and evacuations of two Rio Linda neighborhoods last year, has been found guilty of murdering his girlfriend Leslie Cramblit by a Yuba County jury.

Witt was accused of shooting Cramblit in the head during a violent domestic dispute in the Rackerby home where he was hiding out from Sacramento County authorities. He was found hiding out in a Carmichael home five days after the killing.

The jurors only needed an hour and a half to return a guilty verdict on the charge of murder in the second degree and corporal injury of a cohabitant. The jury also found in favor of several sentencing enhancements that specify Witt used a firearm to kill Cramblit. During testimony it was shown that gunpowder marks indicated the bullet that killed Leslie Cramblit was shot from a muzzle held around one foot from her face.

Witt will be sentenced on August 30th, during which the judge will hear statements from the Cramblit family members.

He faces 40 years to life in prison.
