Love your library! Come join us and find out how you can support the Rio Linda Library. Our active Friends group welcomes you to help our library thrive by volunteering your time, energy and ideas.

Preschool Storytime (Early Childhood (0-5))
Talk, sing, read and play with us! Grownups and their little ones are welcome most Thursday mornings for a fun storytime with books, songs, letters and numbers. No need to register. This Summer Reading program is sponsored by the Friends of Rio Linda Library.

Stress Buster Coloring for Adults (Adult)
Feeling a little stressed out? Why not join us at the library and relax with crayons, colored pencils and pens. Pretend that you’re five again and enjoy coloring some challenging coloring pages made just for the kid in you. All materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. This program is sponsored by the Friends of Rio Linda Library.
June 3, Friday, 4:00 p.m.
Computer Safety Class (Adult)
Come join us for an Oasis sponsored Computer class where we will learn how to keep computers from getting viruses and how to protect our information online. This class is sponsored by Friends of Rio Linda Library. Registration is required.

Teen Volunteers: Cowboy Roundup (Teen)
Start your summer off with a yeehaw! Come into the Library any time between 1:00 and 5:30 for a 20 minute training, where you’ll pick up your cowboy hat and bandana, and learn the ropes of your volunteer duties. Then return for our big community event: Cowboys, Farmers, and Ranchers, which will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 2:30. Check in with Kayla on Saturday at 1:30, and help farmers with their produce, ranchers with their farm animals and little children with their with their questions. Summer Reading is heatin’ up in Rio Linda. We need your help! This Summer Reading program is sponsored by the Friends of Rio Linda Library.
June 4, Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
Cowboys, Farmers, and Ranchers: Hoofin’ it to Read (Family/All Ages)
Hey, little dudes and dudettes, come on out to the Library to see horses, chickens, goats and more! Plant a seed, study a worm garden and learn about where your food comes from. The first 100 little cowgirls and cowboys will receive a cowboy hat and a Rio Linda homemade bandana to wear on the range. This Summer Reading program is sponsored by the Friends of Rio Linda Library.
June 7, Tuesday, 5:00 p.m.
Harmony Henna Library (Teen)
Enjoy the beautiful body art of henna by having a temporary henna tattoo drawn on your hand by skilled henna artist, Jacqueline Robbins. Drop into the Library between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. to have your hand transformed with art! This Summer Reading program is for teens and adults, and is sponsored by the Friends of Rio Linda Library.

Knit and Crochet Circle (Adult)

Do you have questions about your Social Security retirement, disability benefits or Medicare? Friendly Social Security Administration staff will be in the library to help you find answers. They can help you establish an account, file applications at one of the library’s internet computers and more. This is a drop-in session, and you will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis.
