In celebration and to honor our State Champion football team, the Rio Linda/Elverta community will hold a championship celebration parade and Rally on December 22nd at 3pm in Downtown Rio Linda.
The parade will begin at 3pm, with the rally to follow at Depot Park.
This particular parade will be short, beginning at the archway (Rio Linda Blvd and M Street) and ending at Depot Park.
Once the parade has arrived at the park, we will hold a rally celebration with the 2018 CIF D5AA Champion Rio Linda Knights football team. We will introduce the football team, the coaches, the players, and talk to them a bit about their road to the title.
The CIF State Championship trophy will be there for you to take photos with, along with the NorCal trophy and the Sac-Joaquin section pennant.
Hickory Hank’s barbecue will serve dinner for the team, and the first 1000 people will get hot dogs, chips, and sodas or bottled water for free.
