Knights Outlook: A Packed Week for Rio Linda High Athletics

By Rio Linda Online Sports

It’s a big week for the Black and Gold as we head into the heart of the winter season. With our soccer teams hitting the pitch and our hoopers taking on some tough league rivals, there are plenty of chances to get out and support our student-athletes.

Whether you’re heading to the stadium or the gym, remember that tickets for all home events are available exclusively through GoFan. You can purchase your tickets right here before you head to the gate.

Here is what’s on the schedule for the week of February 2nd:

Monday, Feb 2: Soccer Split

The week kicks off with a home-and-away split against Sutter.

  • Girls Soccer: Hosting Sutter at home. JV starts at 4:00 PM, with Varsity following at 6:00 PM.
  • Boys Soccer: Traveling to Sutter. Both JV and Varsity are scheduled for a 3:15 PM kickoff.

Tuesday, Feb 3: Frosh Spotlight

  • Frosh Girls Soccer: The freshman squad takes center stage at home against Franklin. Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM.

Wednesday, Feb 4: The Mid-Week Rush

Wednesday is easily the busiest night of the week, with four different programs in action against Dixon and El Camino.

  • Girls Soccer: Away at Dixon (JV 4:00 PM / V 6:00 PM).
  • Boys Soccer: Home vs. Dixon (JV 4:00 PM / V 6:00 PM).
  • Girls Basketball: Hosting El Camino. JV tips off at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM.
  • Boys Basketball: On the road at El Camino (JV 6:00 PM / V 7:30 PM).

Thursday, Feb 5: Mat Stakes

  • Wrestling: Our Knights wrestlers head to Sutter for the GEL League meet. Action starts early at 9:00 AM as they look to secure their spots on the podium.

Friday, Feb 6: Friday Night Hoops

We close out the school week with a heavy dose of basketball and more soccer action.

  • Girls Basketball: Sutter comes to our gym. JV at 5:30 PM, Varsity at 7:00 PM.
  • Boys Basketball: The boys travel to Sutter for the rematch (JV 6:00 PM / V 7:30 PM).
