Knights’ Schedule Jam-Packed as Spring Season Hits Full Stride

By Rio Linda Online Sports Staff

RIO LINDA, CA — Grab your sunglasses and a bag of seeds, folks. If you’re looking for a seat in the bleachers this week, you’d better get there early. It’s a busy stretch for the Knights as the spring calendar fills up with everything from the crack of the bat to the splash of the pool.

Here is your look at the week ahead in Rio Linda sports.

Monday: Opening the Gates

The week kicks off right here at home. The Boys Volleyball squad welcomes El Camino to the hardwood, with JV starting at 5:00 PM and Varsity following at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, over at the diamond, Baseball hosts Destiny Christian. It’ll be a late one under the lights for Varsity at 6:30 PM after the JV gets things moving at 4:00 PM.

Tuesday: A Full Slate

Tuesday is the busiest day for local fans to catch some action. Softball takes center stage at home against Casa Roble (JV 4:30/V 6:30). Volleyball is back in the gym against West Campus, while Tennis hosts Natomas at 4:00 PM. If you’re looking for a quieter afternoon, the Golf team travels to El Camino for a 3:00 PM tee time.

Wednesday: On the Road

The Knights hit the bus on Wednesday. Baseball travels for a rematch at Destiny Christian (4:15 PM), while Volleyball heads out to Dixon. Tennis will also be making the trip to Woodland for a 4:00 PM match.

Thursday: Links, Lanes, and Lobs

Thursday offers a bit of everything. Boys Golf stays local against Dixon at 3:00 PM. For those willing to travel, the Swim team and the Tennis team are both over at Casa Roble at 4:00 PM. Softball Varsity heads to Destiny Christian, and Volleyball makes the trek to McNair.

Friday & Saturday: The Big Finale

We close out the week with a bang. Friday night, Baseball is back home against Destiny Christian (JV 4:00/V 6:30).

However, the real highlight of the weekend is the Bob Bastian JV Classic. Our softball fields will be humming all day Friday and Saturday as we host this junior varsity showcase. It’s a great chance to see the future of the program and honor a local legacy.
