Knights’ Winning Streak Snapped by Del Campo

Rio Linda, CA – The Lady Knights’ impressive nine-game flag football winning streak came to an end on Wednesday night as they fell to the Del Campo Cougars in the semi-finals of the 2024 CIF Sac-Joaquin division 3 playoffs by a score of 48-26.

The Knights struggled to contain the Cougars’ high-powered offense, led by quarterback Sophia Wright. Wright had a stellar performance, throwing for 305 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 123 yards and two scores.

Though the Lady Knights’ playoff run came to an end with the loss, it’s important to note that Del Campo went on to win the Section Championship over Livingston just days later at Cosumnes River College, 37-34.

Despite the defeat, the team had a remarkable year, finishing with a 15-7 record.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Svetlana Stepanchuk, the Knights showcased their talent and dedication throughout the season. Their strong performance sets the stage for a promising 2025 season.
