Local Developments Heading to County Project Review
FacebookXLinkedInEmail

The County’s Project Review committee heads back to work next week and two local area developments are on the docket, while Amazon continues to grow at Metro Air Park.

  • Elverta Crossing is showing signs of life, and a Burger King is being planned for the northwestern corner of the Watt Avenue and Black Saddle Drive intersection. This will be directly north of the KFC and in front of LifeStorage and Tractor Supply. The developer is asking for a Use Permit and Design Review for the construction of a new Burger King with a drive-thru that will have amplified sound within 300 feet of a residentially zoned district in the Antelope community. You can find more information here.
  • US Granite is asking for a Major Design Review for the construction of a 20,000 square-foot steel building for granite fabrication (indoor fabrication and warehousing) at 6143 32nd Street, zoned M-1, in the North Highlands community. This will be just northeast of the Coast Guard facility at McClellan Field, near M&M Firewood if you’re familiar. You can find more information here.

  • According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Amazon has outgrown it’s 855,000-square-foot warehouse, at Metro Air Park, and are looking to add another 1.3 million square feet, also in Metro Air Park. Sacramento County shows that a permit was issued in November for a 1.3 million-square-foot warehouse for 4930 Allbaugh Drive. The permit indicates that the building would have office space, break rooms, restrooms, and a mezzanine. The estimated project cost is $121.3 million. It’s not clear if Amazon plans to move to the new building, or occupy both.

The Project Review Committee meeting takes place via teleconference on Wednesday January 13th at 9am.
