Local Kids Head to Branson for National Tournament

Adrian Royer, age 8 and Kambria Silva, age 9 both attend Sutter Peak Charter Academy will represent the Western district and Higher Ground Apostolic Church at the North American Junior Bible Quizzing National Tournament in Branson, Missouri on July 20-25th. 

On March 8-9th they won the Southwest Junior Bible Quizzing Extravaganza to qualify them for the the national tournament. 

At the novice tournament in January, they took 1st place team and Kambria won 1st place individual, Adrian won 3rd place individual. You can find stats from that tournament here. Kambria is ranked #1 Nationally when answering interrupted questions.

Higher Ground’s Junior team consists of Janae Fleshman (11), Benson Royer (10), Kaden Silva (10) and Nathan Grazian (9), all local kids.

Nathan attends Westside, and the other kids attend Sutter Peak Charter Academy. Having placed 3rd at their most recent tournament, they hope to qualify for the National Tournament at the district finals on June 14/15.

They are also selling Papa Murphy’s pizza cards to help fund their trip and are working to start selling snow cones at the BMX track a few Fridays to raise funds.

Each quizzer’s cost is about $2500 (gas, hotel, entry fees, etc).
