National Night Out Tuesday August 1st at the Rio Linda Library

This year’s National Night Out (NNO) is Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

NNO is a once-a-year opportunity for citizens, members of public safety, neighborhood watch groups, civic associations, businesses, community organizations and local officials to come together in solidarity and celebrate safe neighborhoods.

Rio Linda’s event will take place from 6pm to 8pm at the Rio Linda Library at the Corner of 6th Street and M Street.

The Rio Linda event is hosted by the Rio Linda Elverta Visions Neighborhood Association, The Rio Linda Elverta Lions, The Rio Linda Library, The Rio Linda Elverta Chamber of Commerce, The Rio Linda Elverta Food Closet, Kid’s ID, The Rio Linda Country Faire, and REACH.

District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert encourages Sacramento County citizens to participate in a neighborhood party to strengthen relationships among residents and those who work to protect them.

Several community prosecutors will be attending events in the neighborhoods they serve, and a District Attorney information table will be available at the South Oak Park/Fruitridge Pocket Fair at Jack Davis Park.  Other representatives from the office will also join their public safety colleagues and neighbors at events across the region.
Neighborhood NNO parties have a wide range of family friendly activities, including barbeques, ice cream socials and pool parties.  Not only is NNO a fun night for all, it heightens awareness about crime prevention and generates community support and participation in local anti-crime efforts.
