Obituary: Milton John DeSouza

August 15, 1949 – August 9, 2024

Milton John DeSouza Jr.

Milton John DeSouza Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away on August 9, 2024, at the age of 74, while doing what he loved.

Born on August 15, 1949, to Milton John DeSouza Sr. and Sara Margaret DeSouza, Milton married the love of his life, Geraldine A. DeSouza, on February 21, 1970. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion, raising three daughters: Theresa Marie DeSouza-Hill, Candida Ann DeSouza, and Melody Lynn DeSouza.

A skilled diesel mechanic and dedicated farmer, Milton’s work was his passion, but nothing meant more to him than his family. He took great pride in his six grandchildren: Gabriel Anthony Hernandez, Carlos Anthony DeSouza, Eleysea Virginia DeSouza, Esperanza Deon Hernandez, Sienna Marie DeSouza, and Geraldine Isabella Hernandez. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Eli Birdwell, Zayn DeSouza, and Jet Birdwell.

Milton is survived by his wife Geraldine Ann DeSouza, his brother Mario Joseph DeSouza and wife Lucy DeSouza. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton John DeSouza Sr., Sara Margaret DeSouza, and his eldest sister Georgia Ann Knorr.

Milton’s legacy is one of hard work, dedication, love, and a deep commitment to those he held dear. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial Service

A memorial service to honor Milton will be held on October 5, 2024, at noon at the American Legion Hall Post #521, 6700 8th Street, Rio Linda, CA 95673.
