Rio Linda water board is imploding
The meeting to unseat Mary Harris is taking place at Orchard Elementary, at 6:30pm. Everyone should be there to voice their displeasure with what the grand jury called a “dysfunctional board of directors”. I know I won’t miss it.
RLECWD: Cash strapped district plans to give it away
The Rio Linda Elverta Community Water District is cash strapped and operating at less than needed to secure the State loans for the necessary wells. The District will need to put through a rate increase before the first of the coming year to secure the loans, but you can be certain it won’t happen before the election. A contract for legal services such as presented are beyond the District’s finances and should not be signed by the board of directors.
Rio Linda handles Foothill, 26-6
No news to report, but want to stay consistent with the coverage. Had to stay home with my son, but I love to shoot sports, so I’ll be there with bells on next week (September 24) when the Knights host the Center High Cougars at Rio Linda High School.

Knights hold off Antelope 38-31
In Friday’s non-league game, the Rio Linda Knights football team got by the host Antelope Titans by a score of 38-31.

You can buy cheaper pre-sale tickets at Rio Linda Hardware, Tummy’s, Rio Java, or Archway Market. The pre-sale tickets are $12 for 12 and above and $5 for 6-12. Otherwise it is $15 for 12 and up and 5 for 6-12. Younger than 6 get in free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.
