After a devastating fire forced it to close in May 2024, Pancake Palace is on the road to reopening. The former “Happy Steak” restaurant, located at 6225 Watt Ave, has been a neighborhood staple for more than 27 years, and its temporary closure left a hole in the North Highlands community.
The fire, which caused significant damage to the kitchen and dining area, didn’t deter the team. Now, after months of hard work and anticipation, they’ve shared an exciting update on social media. They’ve finally secured all the necessary permits, and construction has officially begun.
Ownership confirmed that the goal is to reopen in September. The team plans to provide a more precise date by the end of August.
Pancake Palace is a go-to spot for classic breakfast and brunch dishes like chicken-fried steak, omelets, waffles, and, of course, their famous pancakes. We’ll be sure to share any new updates as they become available. In the meantime, you can follow Pancake Palace on their Facebook page for the latest news on their progress.
