RIO LINDA, CA – Mark your calendars, Rio Linda and Elverta! The 12th Annual Rio Linda Elverta Country Faire is set to transform the heart of our community into a vibrant hub of family fun, entertainment, and local pride on Saturday, September 20th and 21st, 2025. This expansive, all-day event will span two locations—Depot Park and the Rio Linda Community Center—ensuring there’s something exciting around every corner.
From thrilling competitions and captivating demonstrations to a vast array of local vendors and crucial community services, the Faire is designed to “showcase the Rio Linda Elverta community for the benefit and education of the general public.” It’s the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family for a memorable day celebrating our unique local spirit!
A Day Packed with Entertainment and Activities!
The Faire promises a truly immersive experience with a diverse lineup of attractions:
Kid-Friendly Fun Zone (Community Center)
Opening bright and early at 10:00 a.m., the Kids Fun Zone at the Community Center is a paradise for younger attendees. Expect an exhilarating collection of obstacle courses, bounce houses, a football toss, axe throwing (with safety measures!), a rock wall, a toddler area, Alien Tag, a basketball challenge, and other Park & Rec Games. There will also be face painters and balloon twisters to add an extra splash of color and whimsy to the day.
Watermelon Eating Contest (The Klip Joint)
Prepare for sticky, sweet fun at the 3rd Annual Watermelon Eating Contest, hosted at The Klip Joint! This crowd-favorite event invites participants of all ages to test their speed and stomach for delicious watermelon. There are three age categories with multiple rounds:
- Ages 5-10: 10:30 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.
- Ages 11-17: 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.
- Adults (18+): 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m. Come cheer on your favorites and maybe even take home a prize!
Horseshoe Tournament (Community Center)
For those with a keen eye and a steady arm, the Elkhorn Moose Lodge 2060 will host its 12th annual FREE Horseshoe Tournament. Sign-ups kick off bright and early from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with the tournament officially starting at 11:00 a.m. This double-elimination event will feature blind-draw partners, ensuring a fair and exciting competition for all. You can find the horseshoe pits right next to the basketball courts near the Community Center building.
Showcasing Community Talent and Heritage
The Country Faire is deeply rooted in celebrating local talent, agriculture, and history.
Country Faire Community Showcase
Witness the incredible skills and creativity of our neighbors in the Community Showcase. From handmade crafts to artistic displays, this is where the heart of Rio Linda Elverta shines.
Youth Livestock Competition (FFA Area)
Head over to the Farm, Animal, FFA, 4H Area for the much-anticipated Youth Livestock Competition. This beloved segment features showmanship competitions for Goats, Dogs, Chickens, Rabbits, Horses, and Ponies! Don’t miss the Poultry Show, Dog Rally Competition, and Canine Good Citizen Testing. It’s an all-day spectacle of our region’s agricultural heritage and the dedication of our young people.
Rogues of the Golden Coast – Black Powder Demonstrations
A thrilling highlight for many attendees will be the Black Powder Demonstrations by the “Rogues of the Golden Coast.” These historical reenactors will provide fascinating insights into early weaponry, showcasing various versions of pistols, rifles, and of course, cannons! Please be aware that these demonstrations involve loud noises. For those who wish to experience the excitement up close or prefer to maintain a comfortable distance, look for posted schedules at the information booth and A-frame signs in front of the cannon area to plan your visit accordingly.
Live Music & Entertainment
On Sunday, September 21, 2025 under the tent on W. Front Street, the Faire will feature a concert by Lisa Daggs. This American multi-award-winning Christian music singer-songwriter, with 35 #1 hits and 10 CDs, is also an Entertainer of the Year for the Inspirational Country Music Association. She will perform at 4:00 p.m., and this concert is FREE TO THE PUBLIC.

Free Vision Exams by the Rio Linda Lions Club
The Rio Linda Lions Club will be offering free vision exams for all from their dedicated Vision Screening Unit. This is an invaluable service, providing quick and accessible health checks for community members. Look for their distinctive “LIONS” logo and vision screening unit.
Free Bike Drawing (Depot Park)
One of the most exciting giveaways of the day is the Free Bike Drawing, held at Depot Park (6730 Front Street, Rio Linda, CA 95673). Sign-ups for this popular event begin at 8:00 a.m. at Booth #53. The drawing will take place on the Main Entertainment Stage at 3:30 p.m. This year brings an exciting new twist: while children under 12 can still enter to win a free bike (10 bikes ranging from tiny tot to 24-inch), there will also be a separate drawing for ages 13 and over, featuring 4 additional bikes! Simply fill out a ticket and place it in the bucket for the bike you wish to win. You must be present to win!

Food, Vendors & More!
Indulge your taste buds with a vast selection of options from “Food Truck Alley” at Depot Park and various food vendors at the Community Center. Enjoy the Beer Garden hosted by Rio Pub, explore over 150+ vendor booths offering unique crafts and goods, and grab a delicious meal from the numerous food trucks.
Join the Rio Linda FFA for a wonderful pancake breakfast Saturday morning at the Rio Linda Community Center from 7am to 11:30am.
